Dubai, Nov 21 (IBNS) The International Cricket Council has expressed its shock and sadness at the passing of Namibia's wicketkeeper-batsman Raymond Van Schoor, who died on Friday (November 20), aged 25.

“I am shocked and saddened by this news,” ICC Chief Executive David Richardson said, adding: “Raymond was a regular member of the Namibia cricket team, a promising young player with the potential to go a long way.

“On behalf of the ICC, I express my sincere sorrow and condolences to Raymond’s family and friends, as well as all those involved in Namibia cricket,” he said.

Van Schoor scored 52 and 42 in Namibia’s 114-run victory in the first round action of the ongoing four-day first-class ICC International Cup 2015-2017. In the second match against Ireland, van Schoor contributed five and one as Ireland won by an innings and 107 runs.
