Sydney, Mar 26 (IBNS): India took three quick wickets as Australia scored 271 runs for the loss of five wickets after 45 overs in the crucial semi-final clash of the World Cup here on Thursday.

Shane Watson (16*) and James Faulkner (10*) are currently at the crease.

Australia have lost the wickets of David Warner (12), Steve Smith (105), Glenn Maxwell (23), Aaron Finch (81) and Michael Clarke (10).

Umesh Yadav have taken three wickets for India while Mohit Sharma and R Ashwin have scalped one wicket apiece.

Steve Smith has top scored for the four-time World Champions with his 105 runs.

Australia earlier won the toss and decided to bat first.
