Dubai/IBNS: Just days after her performance at the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, international superstar Katy Perry will play a free concert in regional Victoria for firefighters and their families.

Titled FIGHT ON, Perry’s performance in Bright on 11 March is a show of gratitude for firefighters and their communities who have been so badly affected by bushfires in recent months.

It is a cause that is close to Perry’s heart, and she says the opportunity to provide a lift to those in the affected communities is one she holds dear.

“As a native Southern Californian, I know firsthand the devastation of wildfire across my home communities, and was particularly heartbroken by the Australian bushfires,” Perry said.

“Australia has always given me so much love and support so FIGHT ON is one way to return that love, and help provide a little bit of joy to a country that’s given me so much joy.”

Tickets to the concert are being distributed to emergency services who helped save lives and property as well as local residents from fire-affected communities in the north east of Victoria.

These tickets will be distributed through the local shires and relevant emergency services agencies.

The bushfire concert is being supported by the ICC T20 World Cup, Visit Victoria, TEGDainty, 160over90 and the Brighter Days Festival.

It will come only three days after Perry plays pre and post-match at the MCG on Sunday 8 March to headline the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

“We are thrilled that Katy is coming to Australia to lead the celebrations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Final on International Women’s Day and the fact that she has decided to stay on to brighten the spirits of those impacted by the bushfires in regional Victoria is testament to how much she cares and the role model she is,” ICC T20 World Cup CEO Nick Hockley said.

To join Perry at the MCG for the T20 World Cup final, fans can buy tickets from just $5 for children and $20 for adults. Tickets are available now at t20worldcup.com.
