Birmingham, July 3 (IBNS): In a heartwarming instance, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma reached out to a woman spectator who was hit by a ball when the opening batsman went for a six during the World Cup match against Bangladesh here on Tuesday.

Later Rohit walked up to the woman to check on her and also gifted a signed hat.

The Indian vice captain on Tuesday slammed his fourth century in the ongoing Cricket World Cup. He scored 104 off 92 balls.

Batting first, India scored 314/9 in 50 overs. Despite putting up a great fight, Bangladesh fell short of 28 runs as they were bowled out for 286 in 48 overs.

With the win, India have qualified for the semifinals with a match against Sri Lanka to spare.
