Akash Aath launches mega serial on Maa Sarada's life
Kolkata, Feb 16 (IBNS) Aakash Aath, one of the popular Bengali entertainment channels, recently introduced a mega serial, "Jagat Janani Maa Sarada", in the first such attempt to capture the life of Maa Sarada in small screen.
The makers of the serial rightly chose the Dakshineswar Kali Temple - associated with the mystic of 19th century Bengal Sri Ramkrishna and his wife Sarada Devi or Maa Sarada- to hold a media event to announce the soap.
Actress Arpita Mondal is essaying the role of Maa Sarada while Suman Kundu will be seen as Sri Ramkrishna.
Some other actors are Anuradha Roy, Debasish Roy Chowdhury, Debasish Sen, Bodhisatwa Majumder, Debasish Sarkar, Subhojit Bakshi, Arpita Samanta.
Speaking on the project, director Susanta Bose exuded confidence in his cast and entire team saying they would do their best to create something that truly documents the life of Maa Sarada.
He said they were not doing this television mega serial for any commercial gain.
The Trustee and Secretary of Dakshineswar Kali Temple & Debottar Estate, Kushal Chowdhury, said, "Aakash Aath's latest production is going to be an informative and heart touching show and will give a real account of Maa Sarada's life. I hope by watching this serial people from every walk of life will be inspired and find peace in their life."
This serial is trying to show how Maa Sarada gained such spiritual power though she was a simple girl from a poor family.
These powers were so strong that even after the death of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Maa Sarada was able to hold together his disciples and make the small society reach all over the world.
This serial shall also portray a vivid picture of the customs and practice of the then society and the lives of the people under the British rule.
'Jagat Janani Maa Sarada' will go on air from Feb 19 and will be telecast from Moday to Saturday at 6:30 pm on Akash Aath.
