Agartala/UNI: With the successful implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga (National Tricolour in every house) over the year to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence as part of the national program to promote patriotism, the Tripura government has decided to launch the 'Meri Matti Mera Desh' (My soil is my country) campaign for a week.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha already held a high-level meeting to finalise the program’s road map, which will be launched on August 9 across the state and continue till August 15.

While appreciating the success and impact of Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav, the Chief Minister said Tripura ranks first in the country in the implementation of the program launched by the Centre.

Dr Saha on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working towards the development of the country as well as taking the country forward with patriotic thoughts, which are now being reciprocated by Indians.

He expected that all the stakeholders would play a strong role in keeping the state’s reputation intact in the country through the successful implementation of the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' events.

Dr Saha advised the departments to prepare their events during the campaign in advance for the successful implementation of this program.

The 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' program has been taken as part of the concluding program of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav. In this program, soil will be collected from every panchayat across the country and brought to Delhi to pay tribute to the national heroes, and the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav Memorial and Amrit Bhatika will be constructed there.

In the panchayat-level 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' program in memory of the heroes of the country, memorial plaques should be placed, especially near Amrit Sarovar reservoir, and the Panchprana pledge should be taken in Panchayats with mud lamps and selfies uploaded on the specific website for this campaign.

"At least 75 local tree saplings should be planted in every village Panchayat in India, defense personnel, state police personnel, and Central Armed Police Forces. The families of the freedom fighters and heroes will be honoured, the national flag will be hoisted, and the national anthem will be played," said the officials present in the meeting.

The soil will be collected from the village and brought to the Panchayat and then to the block in the Mitti Yatra. One youth from each block will carry an earthen pot and set off for Delhi's Kartavya path. Amrit Bhatika will be made with the soil brought by 7500 youths from each block on Kartavya Road in Delhi.
