Jayalalithaa casts vote; lauds fair polls

Chennai, Apr 24 (IBNS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo J Jayalalithaa cast her vote in Chennai as all 39 seats in the state went to polls in the sixth phase of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Jayalalithaa cast her ballot at a polling booth at Stella Maris College in Central Chennai at 9:15 am. She was accompanied by her close aide Sasikala Natarajan.

"I don't wish to make any comment now. I will speak after the results are announced. However, I thank the Election Commission for conducting the polls in a free and fair manner," Jayalalithaa said after casting her vote.

"I urge all political parties to cooperate will poll officials and held them conduct a free and fair election," she added.
