Attacks on Kejriwal staged: BJP

India Blooms News Service (IBNS) | | 09 Apr 2014, 09:49 am
New Delhi, Apr 9 (IBNS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said the repeated attacks on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal are staged.

"Every sensible Indian condemns violence of any form, but the kind of staged propagated violence that AAP has been into - ink throwing, the egg smearing - this is very evident that it is just to gain some air space," BJP  leader Sambit Patra told CNN-IBN.

After being repeatedly attacked in public, Kejriwal on Tuesday said he is ready for more attacks if that solves the country's problems.

"If they (attackers) feel that assaulting me will resolve the problems of this country, they must inform me a place and I'll reach. I will not even react or raise my hand," Kejriwal said at a press conference.

This comes on a day when Kejriwal was slapped by an unidentified person in Sultanpuri.

"They showed black flags to me which was okay but then they attacked our cars, threw eggs and even in Delhi, they attacked us. I forgive everyone who have attacked me so far. Our fight is not against individuals," the AAP supremo said.

"Secondly, I don't want security. I repeatedly told the Delhi police," he said.

He said there is a mastermind who frames all these attacks.

Kejriwal said, "But there is one question who is the mastermind of these attacks. Is it just one person or many others are also involved? I don't understand their objective behind these attacks?"

"Someone writes scripts for these people to attack me," he added.

Accusing all parties of being involved in curbing the power of the AAP, the former Delhi CM said, "There was setting among all parties but when we came into the scene, we posed threat for their nexus. But I urge to all workers whatever happens, please don't raise your hands."

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Ashutosh said the BJP might be behind the repeated attacks on the party chief.

"I think the BJP has a hand behind the attacks on Arvind Kejriwal. There should be a probe into this political conspiracy," said Ashutosh.

Hardly four days after he was attacked in Delhi's Dakshinpuri area, Kejriwal was on Tuesday slapped by an unidentified man while he was campaigning in Sultanpuri.

According to reports, the man, yet to be identified, was dressed like an autorickshaw driver.

The attacker was immediately taken into custody.

Reacting to the incident, Kejriwal earlier tweeted: "I am just thinking - why am i being repeatedly attacked? Who r the masterminds? What do they want? What do they achieve?"

"Is violence an answer to country's problems? let them tell me place n time. I will come there. Let them beat me as much as they want ... but will that solve the problems?" he asked.

On Friday, a person was arrested after he allegedly slapped Kejriwal while he was campaigning for his party in Dakshinpuri area of South Delhi.

The attacker identified himself as Abdul Wahid and he said he is a resident of Batla House area in Jamia Nagar.

Kejriwal was allegedly slapped and punched on back by Wahid while he was travelling in an open jeep during a roadshow.

According to reports, the attacker was immediately thrashed by AAP volunteers while Kejriwal was taken away to safety.

The AAP workers said he was paid Rs 25,000 for attacking Kejriwal.

In November last year, a chaos broke out at the press conference of the AAP in New Delhi with black ink being thrown at Kejriwal by a man named Nachiketa.

He claimed himself to be a BJP activist.
