Stockholm, Sweden/IBNS: At least eight people were injured after a man in his twenties attacked them with a "sharp object," in the Swedish city of Vetlanda on Wednesday afternoon, reports said.
The police reportedly shot the assailant in the leg and then took him into custody.
He was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police initially stated the incident as "attempted murder" but later changed it to a "suspected terrorist crime".

Local police chief Malena Grann said: “We are investigating whether there is any terror motive. We are working closely with security police on this."
According to a translation of Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven's statement by The Local, "Tonight, my thoughts are with those who were injured in Vetlanda and their loved ones. I condemn this horrific act of violence. We will respond to these appalling actions with the collective force of society."
He said: "At the moment it is not clear exactly what happened and what the motive was, but police say that a lone perpetrator attacked and seriously injured several people in central Vetlanda."
