Bengal shines at National Junior Chess

Kolkata, Dec 8 (IBNS): Young sensations of Bengal CM Aronyak Ghosh and FM Rajdeep Sarkar secured 5th and 6th position respectively in National Junior Chess Championship 2018 commenced recently in New Delhi.

WIM Arpita Mukherjee finished 12th in the Girls' category of the same event.

Aronyak remained unbeaten throughout the competition and drew with the top ranked GM Karthik Venkatraman.

Rajdeep scored 8.5 points out of 11 same as of Aronyak but lost just one game to IM Rakesh Jena.

Total 230 players from all over the nation participated in this event. WIM Sakshi Chitlange clinched women's title with unbeaten 9 points out of possible 11.
