3rd T20: Shikhar Dhawan, Pant help India beat West Indies by six wickets, win series 3-0

Chennai, Nov 11 (IBNS): Shikhar Dhawan played a sensible knock of 92 runs and Rishabh Pant (58) provided him a strong company at the other end as India defeated West Indies by six wickets in the third T20 match of the series to lift the trophy here on Sunday.

 

After West Indies posted 181 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs, India reached 182 runs by losing four wickets.

Dhawan played a crucial knock in the game where he hit 10 boundaries and two sixes.

Dhawan looked strong in his 62-ball knock where the opponents completely failed to disrupt him until he was dismissed by Allen.

Skipper Rohit Sharma (4) and KL Rahul (17) failed to contribute significantly in the match.

Pant looked promising once again as he smashed five boundaries and three sixes in the innings which helped India move closer to victory.

Manish Pandey (4*) and Dinesh Karthik (0*) remained unbeaten till the end as India managed a last-ball victory in the match to end the series with a 3-0 win margin.

Keemo Paul picked up two wickets for West Indies.

The World Champions failed to impress much with the ball in a format where they have usually dominated in the past.

West Indies batsmen batted sensibly as they posted 181 runs for the loss of three wickets against India in the third T20 match of the series here on Sunday.

Darren Bravo (43*) and Nicholas Pooran (53*) contributed with their willows which helped the West Indian scorecard move close to 200 run mark.

Shai Hope (24) and Shimron Hetmyer (26) provided West Indies a proper start to the innings.

Chahal added two wickets for India.
