Kolkata, May 3 (IBNS): A brief but impactful innings by former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni helped Chennai Super Kings to put up a fighting total against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Eden Gardens here on Thursday.

Dhoni’s unbeaten 43-run knock, which required just 25 balls, helped Chennai to score 177/5 in 20 overs.

Though the first ten overs of the match were widely controlled by Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata bowlers-led by Sunil Narine (2/20) and Piyush Chawla (2/35)- brought the hosts back to the game till Dhoni’s 25-ball innings.
