Rohit Sharma steers Mumbai Indians to winning zone

Pune, Apr 28 (IBNS): Ending a series of defeats, skipper Rohit Sharma's unbeaten knock enabled Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 170, Mumbai reached home with two balls to spare.

The blue brigade scored 173/2 in 19.4 overs.

Apart from Rohit's unbeaten 56 (33), Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis scored 44 and 47 respectively.

Harbhajan Singh was the best bowler for Chennai with a bowling figure 1/20 in 3.5 overs.

Earlier, Mumbai restricted Chennai to 169/5 in 20 overs.

Suresh Raina was the top scorer for Chennai with unbeaten 75 runs from 47 balls.

He has hit six fours and four sixes to build his innings.

Mitchell McClenaghan and Krunal Pandya shared two wickets each for Mumbai. Hardik Pandya clinched one wicket.
