Johannesburg, Mar 30 (IBNS):  Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out from the upcoming Indian Premier League due to injury.

He will also not feature in the third Test between Australia and South Africa.

"Fast bowler hit by stress fracture in his leg, the third Australian this week to be ruled out of the IPL," Cricket Australia reported.

South Australia’s Chadd Sayers has replaced Starc in the final Test.

The left-armer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for $1.8 million during the auction held in January.

However, he will not be seen in the tournament this year.

After Steve Smith and David Warner were banned by Cricket Australia, they will not be seen in the IPL this season.

Now, Starc is the third player who has been ruled out from participating in the tournament.

IPL will start from Apr 7.
