Cape TiOwn, Jan 6 (IBNS):Indian batsman Hardik Pandya showed his skills with the willow to perfection as he remained unbeaten at 82 to help India make a comeback after severe jolts initially to finish at 186 for seven in tea time on the second day of the First Test against South Africa here on Saturday.

India are still 101 runs behind South Africa's 286 runs score.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is giving him strong company at the other end with his gutsy knock of 24 runs.

India kept losing wickets at regular intervals to be reduced to 7-92 when Wriddhiman Saha (0) departed.

Since then, India made a strong return as Kumar and Padya resisted the fall of wickets and put up a strong  93-run unbeaten stand for the eighth wicket.

Veron Philander (3/33) and Dale Steyn (2/51) destroyed the Indian top order.
