India look to lock the T-20 series in Guwahati

Guwahati, Oct 9 (IBNS) : After beating Australia in the first T-20 international match in Ranchi by nine wickets, in-form India now looks to lock the three match series by winning the second match to be played at Barshapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Guwahati witnesses the first international cricket match after seven years.

While India looking to continuing their domination and seal the series in Guwahati, the Australia is looking to level the series by winning this match.

After won the ODI series by 4-1, India started the T-20 international series by winning the first T-20 international match via Duckworth/Lewis method in a rain-marred match played in Ranchi on October 7 last.

Before the second T-20 international match, on Monday, David Warner led Australian team had net practised at Barshapara Cricket Stadium.

But the Virat Kohli led Indian team had forced to cancel net practicing before the second T-20 due to bad weather.

The home team, who are ranked fifth in T-20 international will hope to continue similar performance in Guwahati too.

The hosts delivered brilliant all round performance in the previous matches will be dependent on the hard hitting batsman Rohit Sarma, Shikhar Dhawan, skipper Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav in batting and Bhubaneswar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav will lead the bowling side.

On the other hand, skipper David Warner, Aaron Finch, Glen Maxwell will be the key batsmen for the visitors.

Australian team captain Steve Smith was ruled out of the series due to shoulder injuries.

Meanwhile, tight security has been arranged in Guwahati for the international match.

The first international cricket match played in Guwahati on December 17, 1983 between India and West Indies.

Last International ODI was played in Guwahati on November 28, 2010 between India and New Zealand and India won the match by 40 runs and Virat Kohli smashing a brilliant ton.
