Rafael Nadal remains number one player in world

London, Sept 11 (IBNS): Rafael Nadal remained the number one player in the world , as per the latest ATP rankings released on Monday.

Nadal is currently at the top of the rankings list with 9,465 points.

Swiss Tennis great Roger Federer moved up one more position to reach the second spot at the rankings list.

Rafael Nadal has outplayed South Africa's Kevin Anderson to win the US Open's men's singles title.

The 31-year old Spanish tennis icon defeated Anderson 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

With this win, Nadal registered his third US Open title and 16th grand slam victory.

This is the first time since 2013, Nadal won the US Open title.

Apart from the US Open, Nadal has also won the French Open earlier in 2017.
