Champions Trophy final: India win toss, elect to field first

London, June 18 (IBNS): In the high-voltage final match of Champions Trophy 2017 to be held at London's Oval Ground on Sunday, India won the toss and opted to field first against Pakistan.

It is after 10 years that India and Pakistan are meeting in the final of an ICC tournament.

Last time, it was in 2007 when India and Pakistan had battled for a major ICC trophy and it was MS Dhoni and his men who had walked out of the park with a smile on their faces.

India had defeated Pakistan in the final of the inaugural World T20 tournament in South Africa to lift the title.

India's current skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday said the final of the ICC Champions Trophy is expected to be a 'well-contested' game.

"We are neither intimidated nor are we too arrogant," Kohli said in a press conference ahead of Sunday's clash.

India defeated Pakistan mostly in major ICC tournament matches so far in the history of the game.

In their opening group stage matches earlier in the tournament, India had defeated Pakistan.

"I am sure it will be a well-contested final," he said.
