Azhar Ali injured: Mohammad Hafeez named captain of Pakistan side for 2nd ODI against Australia

Melbourne, Jan 14 (IBNS): Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez will be leading the national side in the second ODI match against Australia in Melbourne on Sunday, officials said.

He was named the skipper after  Azhar Ali was ruled out from the game due to hamstring injury.

"Azhar Ali will not be playing in the 2nd ODI due to a hamstring injury while batting in the first ODI. Mohammad Hafeez will be the captain in 2nd ODI to be played in Melbourne tomorrow. Based on clinical assessment, Azhar Ali will recover quickly and will return to play in Sydney and Adelaide," the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

Australia defeated Pakistan by 92 runs in first match.
