Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar condemns Quetta attack

Islamabad, Oct 25 (IBNS): Former Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar on Tuesday condemned the militant attack in Quetta which killed at least 61 people.

"Strongly condemn terror attack on police training centre in Quetta. May Allah keep hostages safe. Prayers for all," Akhtar tweeted.

"Humanity massacred, people killed, their families ruined. Please put an end to this...my heart bleeds for deceased. May their souls RIP," he said.

Militant group IS has claimed responsibility for the attack at a Police Training College in Pakistan on Monday which left 61 people killed, reports said.

The mishap left 117 others injured.

SITE Intel Group posted on its website: "Khorasan Province of the Islamic State (IS) claimed killing 60 and wounding nearly 120 Pakistani police in a three-man suicide raid at a training center in Quetta, Pakistan."

IG FC Major General Sher Afghan told media that initial investigation suggested that the  militants were affiliated with Lashkar-e- Jhangvi Al Almi.

The attackers were getting directions from Afghanistan, he said.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti was quoted as saying by Geo News that the security forces have completed the operation.

He said three terrorists had attacked the institute.

While one terrorist was killed by security forces. Two others blew themselves up, he said.

Emergency has been imposed in all hospitals across the area.
