Third day: Umesh Yadav, Shami puts India on top,WI struggle at 21-1 in 2nd innings
Bowling out West Indies for 243 in the first innings on , the home side were again made to bat and were struggling at 21 runs for one. Darren Bravo (10*) and Rajendra Chandika (9*) remained unbeaten at stumps.
West Indies lost the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite (2) who was dismissed by Ishant Sharma. West Indies are still trailing India by 302 runs. India had posted a massive 566 for eight declared in their first innings.
At the beginning of the third day's play, overnight batsman Devendra Bishoo (12) and left-hander Darren Bravo (11) resumed the proceedings but the home side could only manage to delay the proceedings before being bowled out at 243 runs.
Umesh (4-41), Shami (6-44) and Amit Mishra (2-43) destroyed the West Indies batting line-up completely as the home side struggled to defend them in a match which has been dominated by Virat Kohli and his men so far.
Braithwaite (74) remained the top-scorer for the team.
Later, it was Shane Dowrich (57*) and skipper Jason Holder (36) who gave little amount of resistance to the Indian bowlers. They piled on some crucial runs to decrease the gap with India's first innings total.
Kohli hence enforced a follow on after Ishant Sharma picked up the wicket of last batsman Shannon Gabriel (2).
