Australia beat India to win Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament

Ipoh, Apr 16 (IBNS): Australia put up a strong show against India in the final of the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament as they defeated the side 4-0 to win the title on Sunday.

India's promising performance in the group stage of the tournament were dashed in the final as Australia showcased their commanding display of tactical hockey to win the final match.

Australia grabbed their ninth Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament .They had last won it in 2014.

India settled for a silver.

Thomas Craig scored twice in the 25th and then in the 35th minutes to take 2-0 lead in the match.
India made a promising display but could not match to the Australian players tonight.

Matt Ghodes made it 3-0 in the 43rd minute and then hit the final goal in the 57th minute to make the final scoreline look 4-0.
