Earthquake: The Gujarat Lions players evacuated from hotel in Mohali

Mohali, Apr 10 (IBNS): The Gujarat Lions players were evacuated from their hotel as strong tremors were felt in parts of north India on Sunday.

"Earthquake tremors felt in parts of North India including Mohali. Our players have been evacuated from their hotel. No casualties!" the IPL side tweeted.
South African pacer Dale Steyn also experienced the tremor in Mohali.

He tweeted: "Just felt the tremors of a earthquake in mohali
Evacuated out the hotel, boys are a little 'shaken'."

Australian Aaron Finch said: "Just a quick earthquake evacuation in Mohali!!"
An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale hit Afghanistan's Hindukush Region region as the tremors were felt in north India, including New Delhi.

The earthquake was felt at 15:58 IST.

The IMD has called the earthquake as 'Moderate'.

The epicentre of the quake, which was located at a depth of 190 kms, was located at Latitude 36.4 degrees north and longitude 71.2 degrees east.

Apart from Afghanistan, the quake was felt in Pakistan and India.

In India, strong tremors were felt in parts of north India including New Delhi.
