Nahida Khan Reprimanded For Breaching ICC Code Of Conduct

India Blooms News Service | | 25 Mar 2016, 01:22 pm
New Delhi, Mar 25 (IBNS) Pakistan's Nahida Khan has received an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during her side's ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 match against Bangladesh in Delhi on Thursday.

The player was found to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match".

The incident happened in the second over of Pakistan's innings when Nahida, after being given out LBW, showed dissent by first holding her ground for an extended period of time and then continued to shake her head while leaving the field.

After the match, which Pakistan won by nine wickets, Nahida admitted the offence, apologised and accepted the sanction proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Ruchira Palliyaguruge and C. Shamshuddin, third umpire Paul Reiffel and fourth official Michael Gough.

For all first offences in women's cricket, Level 1 breaches carry a penalty of an official warning/reprimand.
