ICC World T20: Zimbabwe beat Hong Kong

Nagpur, Mar 8 (IBNS) Zimbabwe put up a strong show to beat Hong Kong by 14 runs in a ICC World Twenty20 qualifying stage match here on Tuesday.

After posting 158 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs, Zimbabwe bowlers restricted Hong Kong at 144 for six.

Opener Jamie Atkinson (53) and Tanwir Afzal (31*) remained top scorers for the side.

Afzal tried to give Zimbabwe some tough competition at the end as he hammered unbeaten  17-ball 31, which included three boundaries and a six.

Donald Tiripano and Tendai Chatara picked up two wickets for Zimbabwe.

Earlier, riding on Vusi Sibanda's 59 runs, Zimbabwe scored 158 runs.

He hit five boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Tanwir Afzal and Aizaz Khan took two wickets each for Hong Kong.
