Bangladesh beat Pakistan to reach Asia Cup final

Dhaka, Mar 2 (IBNS): Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a Asia Cup match to reach the final of the tournament here on Wednesday.


After Pakistan scored 129 runs for the loss of seven wickets, Bangladesh reached 131 runs by losing five wickets with five balls to spare.

Soumya Sarkar remained the top scorer for Bangladesh with his 48 runs off 48 balls, hitting five boundaries and a six.

After few quick wickets, Bangladesh found themselves in deep trouble when Mahmudullah (22*) and Mashrafe Mortaza (12*) played sensibly in the end to reach the winning target.

Mohammad Amir picked up two wickets for Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan scored 129 runs with Sarfraz Ahmed top scoring with his unbeaten 58.

Shoaib Malik remained the second top scorer for the side with his 41.

Bangladeshi bowler Al-Amin Hossain took three wickets in the match.

Bangladesh will face India in the final clash.
