Second Test: Play called off due to heavy rains

India Blooms News Service | | 16 Nov 2015, 12:11 pm
Bengaluru, Nov 16 (IBNS) After no ball was delivered on the second day of the second Test match, play on the third day too was called off due to heavy rains here on Monday.

Rains threatened play right from the start of the match, with heavy rainfall predicted over the course of the match by the met department.

So far, barring the inaugural day, where play happened as usual, giving India a lead in the match, no play was possible in the next two days, owing to the inclement weather.

BCCI tweeted: "Play for Day-3 has been called off due to persistent rain. Weather permitting, Day-4 will begin at 9:15 am. #IndvsSA."

At the end of day three, India are 80 for the loss of no wickets in their first innings, after bowling out South Africa for 214 runs.
