India A maul Bangladesh A by 96 runs in first ODI

The Bangladesh A team folded for 226 runs in the 43rd over, chasing a score of 323, after Mominul Haque, the Bangladeshi skipper, won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first.

Mayank Agarwal, the man who took home the Man of the Series award in the earlier concluded Australia A series, had a field day. The opener along with skipper Unmukt Chand posted 44 for the opening wicket before Chand perished for 16.

Mayank built on the platform to score a brisk fifty (56). Senior campaigner Suresh Raina let on a good start to depart for 16. His dismissal was followed by Kedar Jadhav’s, who departed without contributing a single run with the bat.

India A found themselves in a spot of bother at the 25th over with half the team back in the pavilion. Sanju Samson and Gurkeerat Singh Mann combined to provide their side the solidity. The duo added 102 runs for the 6th wicket.

For the visitors, Nasir Hossain and Shafiul Islam picked up 2 wickets each. Taskin Ahmed, the newest sensation in Bangladesh cricket picked up a wicket but was taken to the cleaners as the lanky pacer gave away 46 runs in 5 overs. Arafat Sunny accounted for a scalp.

Chasing out, Bangladesh A never struck a rhythm, losing early wickets as the Indian boys bowled a tight line.

Apart from a 120 runs partnership between Litton Das and Nasir Hossain for the 6th wicket, they failed to do anything significant as Sreenath Aravind chipped in with 3 wickets to weaken them up-front.

After a blitzkrieg with the bat, Dhawan had a crack with the ball too. The medium pacer picked up 2 wickets while giving away 51 runs in 8 overs.

Mann provided the ultimate blow, picking up 5 wickets for 29 runs including the important wickets of the duo who put up a century plus stand.
