Chennai, Apr 11 (IBNS): Continuing his strong form from the World Cup, New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum hammered 56-ball 100 to guide Chennai Super Kings to 209 runs for the loss of four wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Saturday.

In his heroic knock, McCullum butchered the opponents bowling by hammering seven boundaries and nine sixes.

McCullum is known for playing hurricane innings in IPL and it was IPL opener in 2008 where he had set the tone for the tournament with his unbeaten 158 runs for KKR against RCB.

MS Dhoni also played a quick-fire knock of 29-ball 53 where he smashed four boundaries and same number of sixes.

With three run outs, it was only Trent Boult, who picked up a single wicket for Sunrisers.

He took the wicket of Dhoni.
