Ex-Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram's son is not a cricketer but a MMA fighter, check out more about him

Former Pakistan cricketer and World Cup hero Wasim Akram has said his son's son Tahmoor Akram has become a  mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

Wasim Akram informed the representative of Cricket Pakistan that Taimur had also participated in a fight recently; he is an amateur MMA fighter.

Why not cricket?

On the question of whether you have thought of making Taimur a cricketer, Wasim Akram told Cricket Pakistan that his son has stayed in America, and there is not much cricket there.

"However, I have given my children the right to live the life they want; if he wants to be a fighter, then he must be," he said.

Akram who was a part of Pakistan's 1992 World Cup winning squad, represented 104 Tests for his nation and picked up 414 wickets.

In his career, he played  356 ODIs and took 502 wickets.
