IPL challenge: CSK thrash SRH by 7 wickets

New Delhi/UNI: Riding on fantastic fifties from Faf du Plessis and Rututaj Gaikwad, Chennai Super Kings thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in the 23rd match of the IPL 2021 at Arun Jaitely Stadium, here on Wednesday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 171 for 3 in 20 overs after winning toss and opting to bat.

Captain David Warner (57 off 55 balls) and Pandey (61 off 46 balls) were the top-scorers while Kane Williamson (26* off 10 balls) and Kedar Jadhav (12 off 4 balls) also played important cameos for SRH.

Lungi Ngidi was the best bowler for CSK, returning with figures of 2 for 35 while Sam Curran (1/30) got the other wicket.

In reply, CSK openers Du Plessis (56) and Gaikwad (75) shared a 129-run opening partnership and ensured that their team gunned down the target in 18.3 overs with 7 wickets in hands.

Rashid Khan (3/36) was the most successful bowler for SRH.

The win was CSK's fifth on trot which propelled them to the top of the IPL 2021 points table.
