Asia Cup hero Kedar Jadhav ruled out of IPL due to shoulder injury

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) India all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) following a shoulder injury he sustained while trying to save an overthrow from Ravindra Jadeja during Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kings XI Punjab's match.

Now, his participation in the forthcoming World Cup, which is slated to start on May 30 in England and Wales, seems doubtful.

On Sunday, after the match, CSK's head Coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that the India all-rounder was out of the team to help his recovery from the left shoulder-injury.

"He is due for X-ray and MRI and we are hopeful for him. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us. He is in some discomfort and we are waiting for an accurate analysis tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious but it didn't look that good.," Fleming told reporters.

Jadhav was seen leaving the filed in excruciating pain during the 14th over and was replaced by Murli Vijay for the rest of the innings.

Jadhav has a history of injuries. He was very instrumental in India's Asia Cup win which was held in UAE last year. After Asia Cup, he sustained another injury.

Indian cricket team is scheduled to leave for England on May 22. According to the ICC tournament rules, all teams for the World Cup can make changes to their preliminary squads by May 23.

India will start their campaign in the showpiece event against South Africa on June 5.
