No taboo in portraying a much older woman in Anubrata : Swastika

Kolkata, June 26 (IBNS Tollywood actress Swastika Mukherjee, who stole the limelight in Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! as the stunning seductress Angoori Devi, doesn't have any taboos to essay roles much older than her age.

Swastika, who enacts the role of a mid-forty woman called Jaya, a school teacher, in Partha Sen's upcoming Anubrata Bhalo Achho, tells IBNS that "getting the chance to enact such a role is more important."

"I can't be bogged down by characters reflecting my age. I have no taboos to do an older version of me if the character is challenging enough. Parthada had been waiting for me to get his Jaya," Swastika, the sensation in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, says.

Jaya is the the support system for Anubrata, whose well being is the lei motif of the film.

Agreeing this was the first time she is essaying such a role, much older than her age, Swastika says, "I had perfected the diction, pose, walk of a middle aged woman which is so unlike me." .

Swastika, who confirms having suggested Ritwik's name as Anubrata to the director, says from taxi driver, police informer to a dreamer and loner, Ritwiik can be a fabulous actor.

"I had first debuted in acting under Partha Sen's direction on small screen and then his admonitions had at times moved me to tears. Now I am back with him again in Anubrata Bhalo Achho. It has been a long journey," Swastika says.

The film will be released in August. .
