Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP and Bengali movie actress Nusrat Jahan, who has been facing the ire of a Muslim cleric for attending Durga Puja festivities in Kolkata, gave a strong response to the critic by participating in 'sindoor khela' tradition which is associated with the 'Vijaya Dasami' celebration in West Bengal.

She also tweeted her image on Instagram where her face could be seen covered with sindoor (vermillion).

As per Bengali tradition, married women pray goddess Durga on the last day of the Durga Puja and then smear vermilion on each other during 'Sindoor Khela'.
