New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday ordered the suspension of teachers and vice principal of a Delhi school that failed to report alleged sexual assault on the premises to the police after one of the victims informed them about it.

As per the letter, Delhi Education Minister Atishi wrote to the Directorate of Education to ensure rigorous training of all the principals, and teachers on provisions of POCSO to avoid such incidents in future.

In her letter, Atishi assured the Delhi government's unwavering commitment to a safe and secure environment in the schools for the holistic development of the students.

The two boys, aged 12 and 13 years, were allegedly sexually assaulted during a summer camp organised by the school.

Delhi Education Minister Atishi on Tuesday said, "This is a deeply disturbing act. It is especially worrying that the students had informed the teachers and the vice principal but they did not bring it to the notice of the police or any higher authorities."

She said that "non-reporting of sexual abuse is a criminal offence."

"We must do everything to ensure children are safe and secure at all times," Atishi said.
