Karnataka assembly elections: Congress releases second list of 42 candidates

New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Thursday released the second list of 42 candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka.

According to a communique issued by Congress general secretary Mukul Wasnik, the party's Central Election Commission (CEC) has selected the candidates.

The list of candidates include MY Patil, Mahantesh Kadadi, Santosh S Lad, Srinivas NT and NY Gopalakrishna.

Last week, the party released the first list of 124 candidates.

Elections to the 224 member Karnataka Assembly will be held on May 10.

The results will be declared on May 13.

The Opposition Congress is eyeing to return to power. The BJP is hopeful that it will retain power.
