He said on Wednesday a video surfaced on social media in which mourners were found chanting pro Azadi slogans during a Jaloos-e-Aza (Mauharram Procession).
He said police station Parimpora has taken cognizance and started investigation.

The police has acted swiftly and identified the location which is situated at the end of Hokersar Nowpora Bund, about 2.5 kms inside the main Hokersar road, he said adding the area is isolated and there was no history of organising any such unlawful gathering before.

He said there was also no input of any gathering or procession nor was there any police presence, as the area is far from main Imambara of Hokersar lake. It has been revealed that some boys from adjoining area of Badgam allegedly led by Sajad Hussain Parray, son of Mohammad Yousuf Parray, resident of Nawpora Gund Hassi Bhat, Arif Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Akbar Dar and Raja Mehboob, son of Mehboob Hussain, both resident of Gund Hassi Bhat.

Spokesman said they took advantage of the area and assembled there and raised pro Azadi slogans.

In this regard a formal case has been registered against the accused.

He said midnight raids were conducted in which two persons have been arrested and further arrests are expected in the said case and the investigation is going on.
