Kolkata/IBNS: The debut run of Kolkata's East-West Metro, which was inaugurated just a day ago, was marked by a unique love story where a man proposed to his partner inside a coach on the occasion of Valentine's Day on Friday.

In a picture shared by Kolkata Metro in its Facebook page, the man, in an almost empty coach, is seen proposing his lady partner.

The photo was captioned on social media as, "A gentleman proposing to his partner with a red rose inside the new E-W Metro in its debut run on Valentine's day today."

The East-West Metro was inaugurated by Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Goyal was accompanied by other Union Minister Babul Supriyo who is a two-time Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal's Asansol.

Commuters can avail the first phase of East-West Metro between Salt Lake Sector V and Salt Lake Stadium stations, from 8 am. to 8 pm. on weekdays (including Saturday) and from 12 pm. to 8 pm. on Sundays.

Operating a distance of six stations, Kolkata Metro is running its service in an elevated corridor between Sector V and Salt Lake Stadium stations in the first phase.
