Lok Sabha Poll: Girish Bapat files nomination papers in Pune

Pune, Apr 2 (UNI) Two candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday filed their nomination papers for Pune and Baramati constituencies.

Five times MLA Girish Bapat filed his nomination papers from Pune Lok Sabha constituency while Kanchan Kul filed her nomination papers from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency at Pune election commission office here.

BJP candidate Mr Bapat is trying his luck for the first time in these Lok sabha elections, while Kanchan Kul is also contesting first time from Baramati against sitting MP Supriya Sule.

Before filing the nomination papers, a huge rally of BJP workers was organised at Narpatgiri chowk where thousands gathered including top leaders of the party.

Addressing the rally, Vijay Shivtare, state water resources minister said ''Keep selfie tai in galli and send Kanchan Kul ro Delhi''.

The BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade claimed that Supriya Sule will be defeated by at least one lakh votes and BJP candidate Kul will taste victory.

Echoing the same, state revenue minister Chandrakantdada Patil said BJP is going to create history in Baramati by defeating the NCP supremo Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule.
