Bihar: Notification for first phase of Lok Sabha election to four seats issued

Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) The process of filing nominations for the first phase of Lok Sabha election involving four out of 40 seats and one assembly seat in Bihar scheduled on April 11 commenced with the issuance of notification today.

According to the state election office, the notification was issued for Aurangabad, Gaya (reserved), Nawada and Jamui (reserved) seats this morning starting the process of filing nominations.

The candidates will be able to file nominations till March 25. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be done on March 26 and candidates can withdraw their nominations till March 28. Votes would be counted on May 23.

The by-election to Nawada assembly seat would be held simultaneously with the first phase of Lok Sabha election.
