UP: Yogi Adityanath govt allocates Rs 450 crore for cow shelters in state budget

Lucknow, Feb 7 (IBNS): The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has allocated nearly Rs 450 crore for maintenance and construction of cow shelters across the state in its Rs 4.79 lakh crore budget.

According to reports, the BJP government in the state, in its 2019-20 budget, allocated Rs 247 crore for cow shelters in rural areas and Rs 200 crore for Kanha Gaushala and Destitute Cattle Shelter Scheme in urban areas.

Finance minster Rajesh Agarwal presented the budget in the presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the Assembly.

In it's third budget, the state government allocated Rs 6,000 crore for the Swachh Bharat Mission and Rs 1,298 crore for the health scheme Ayushman Bharat.

It also allocated Rs 204 crore for modernisation of police force.
