Bihar villager made to lick spit for entering into sarpanch’s house without knocking at door

Patna, Oct 20 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): An elderly villager in Bihar was beaten up and made to lick his own spit for allegedly entering into the house of a sarpanch without knocking at the door.

The incident took place at Ajaipur village under Noorsarai block in Nalanda district on Thursday,

The victim Mahesh Thakur comes from barber community and runs his hair saloon.

The local media has reported, the victim had gone to the sarpanch house for khaini but no male members were present in the house at that time.

Subsequently, a panchayat (court) was held at the village at which he was allegedly beaten up with slippers and also made to lick his own spit.

The local administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

“I condemn this act and such incident will not be tolerated,” a Bihar minister Nand Kishore Yadav was quoted as telling the news agency ANI on Friday.
