New Delhi, May 3 (IBNS) : The crisis in the Aam Aadmi Party appeared to have been averted with party chief Arvind Kejriwal acceding to the demand of dissident leader Kumar Vishwas by suspending party legislator Amanatullah Khan, reports said.

Vishwas, who, earlier threatened to quit the party unless his bete noire Khan was sternly dealt with, has also appointed chief of operations in Rajasthan, reports quoted Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as saying.

The decisions were taken at a top level meeting of the party at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence.

Vishwas, a noted Hindi poet, had been insisting on action against Khan for accusing him of being an RSS agent and plotting a coup against Kejriwal.

Though  Vishwas is a founder member of AAP he has held no top party posts so far.

On Tuesday Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia met Vishwas and tried to assuage his feelings over the accusations  Amanatullah Khan.

The meeting, that ran into late night hours, failed to yield results, though Vishwas agreed to be present at Wednesday's follow-up meeting.

Khan had on Monday resigned from the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

Bitter feuds broke out in the party following its string of electoral debacles.
