New Delhi/IBNS: Arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal, who came to light after her husband's arrest in liquor policy case, will be leading the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, media reports said.

Sunita Kejriwal, who has so far primarily read out Arvind Kejriwal's messages from jail, will campaign for AAP in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat.

She will hold a mega roadshow in support of AAP's East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar.

Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi told ANI, "Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal will enter the fray to protest against Arvind Kejriwal's arrest and seek votes for AAP candidates. It will start from Delhi tomorrow.

"On April 27, she will hold a roadshow in East Delhi Lok Sabha. Then she will hold a roadshow in the West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency on April 28. Sunita Kejriwal will also visit Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat..."

Sunita Kejriwal, a former Indian Revenue Services (IRS) officer, has served the Income Tax department for 22 years. She took voluntary retirement in 2016.

Sunita Kejriwal also addressed a mega rally of INDIA bloc held in Delhi last month in protest against the Delhi Chief Minister's arrest.

Kejriwal, a three-term Delhi Chief Minister, was arrested last month in connection with a money laundering scam linked to the liquor policy.

Despite the Opposition's attack, Kejriwal continues to function as the Chief Minister from jail.
