Scouts, Guides delegation meets Dr. Jitendra Singh
They updated Jitendra Singh about the popular “Service Camp” recently organised by them at Ujjain during the Kumbh Mela. At the Camp, they provided coordination and Help-desk services. They also helped in managing the communication link among different members of the family and groups who had come for the occasion in very large numbers.
Sinha also gave a resume of the initiative taken by the organisation for developing “Ham” radio service as part of disaster management. Since telephone and other communication lines get disrupted during a disaster situation, “Ham” radio could serve as a useful means under such circumstances, he said.
Giving a resume of their activities, the members of delegation informed the Minister that they have over 12 lakh members spread all over the country, who are actively working in at least 16 States of India.
The delegation also handed over a memorandum to Jitendra Singh wherein they highlighted some of their main concerns, particularly relating to their demand for higher acknowledgement, recognition and facility to work more effectively.
