Two militants killed in Kashmir gunbattle
Srinagar, Dec 8 (IBNS): The Kashmiri Police on Tuesday informed that two militants were killed in a brief encounter with security forces in South Kashmir Pampore area, some 12 km away from the state's summer capital Srinagar.
According to sources, around 5:30 on Tuesday evening, Special Operation Group of Kashmir Police cordoned off the area near Sempora as they received inputs that some militants were hiding in that area .
"When we reached the spot, we laid naka near the area to trap militant," a police official told IBNS.
Accroding to him the militants started indiscriminate firing suddenly.
He further said that the security forces retaliated resulting in the deaths of two militants.
More reinforcement were dispatched to the area and search operation was on till last reports.
