Chennai airport to start partial operations tomorrow

Chennai, Dec 4 (IBNS): Even as heavy rain lashed Tamil Nadu on Friday, Chennai airport officials has announced that flight operations will partially resume from Saturday after being suspended till Sunday, media reports said.
Meanwhile, in continuation of rescue and relief operations being undertaken in flood hit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh , the Indian Air Force has airlifted 17 teams of National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams from Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Bathinda. 
 
At least 309 stranded people were evacuated. 
 
The helicopters have winched 22 people and rescued 267 passengers.  A total load of 7.5 tonnes has been airlifted by the helicopters.
