Kolkata, Nov 21 (IBNS): In a collaboration between the Embassy of Israel in India and Culture Monks, Israeli innovator Matan Berkowitz will hold a series of lectures and workshops in Kolkata this week during his three- day visit in the city.

Berkowitz will be engaging with young Indian entrepreneurs at Loretto College, IIEST Shibpur, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute and IIM Calcutta.

Recently featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list of most promising young Israelis in science & technology, Matan Berkowitz (Ma Tan) lives in the nexus of art, technology and positive impact.

His award winning inventions translate movements, brainwaves & heartbeats into music and turn everyday objects into innovative instruments.

As the founder of Shift, a company which specializes in positive innovation, Berkowitz works with startups, municipalities, hospitals and organizations on forward thinking projects.

Of the various lectures and workshops Berkowitz will be holding in Kolkata, two are open to the public: Nexus of Technology, Art & Life at SRFTI Kolkata (Nov. 23rd, 5:30 pm), and Rapid Innovation - Prototyping Workshop at IIM Calcutta (Nov. 23rd, 10:30 am).

The event is part of the celebrations of 25 years of growing partnership between India and Israel. Innovation and technology have been recognized as one of the pillars of the Indo-Israeli relations during PM Modi’s visit to Israel in July 2017.
