Google celebrates the 41st anniversary of the discovery of Lucy
New York, Nov 24 (IBNS) Google on Tuesday celebrated the 41st anniversary of the discovery of Lucy with a doodle.
In 1973, paleoanthropologists working in Ethiopia found a set of bones, that when carbon dated was found to be around 3 billion years old.
Named Lucy after a popular Beatles song, the set of bones were said to half of the skeleton of an early mammal.
What set it apart from other early mammals was the part of the knee joint that was almost complete and more human like.
