Kolkata, Apr 11 (IBNS): The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat is all set to ring in the Bengali New Year with an elaborate menu at their all-day diner The Seasonal Tastes between April 13 and 15, this year.

The menu is a mix of ‘Epar Bangla and Opar Bangla’ (nostalgia riddled phrases referring to the two parts of pre-partition Bengal).

Begin with a grand 'adda' with family or friends over savory options like ‘Jhal Muri’, ‘Tele Bhaja,’ ‘Phuchka’, ‘Gondhoraj chicken pakoda,’ ‘Lal murgi,’ ‘Prawn kabiraji,’ ‘Fish cutlet,’ ‘Fish fingers,’ ‘Paneer chop,’ ‘Prawn chop,’ ‘Peyazi,’ ‘Alur chop,’ ‘Topse fry,’ ‘Morola machher pyazi and Kolkata style roll from the live station.  

Highlights from the main include ‘Tel koi,’ ‘Dub chingri’, ‘Sorse bhetki,’ ‘Murgir jol,’ ‘Kosha mangso,’ ‘Kakra jhol,’ ‘Haser dimer dalna,’ ‘Echor bhapa,’ ‘Mocha ghonto bora diye’, 'Chorchori’, ‘Dakbunglow Mutton’, ‘Kochi pathar Jhol’, ‘Potoler Dalna’, ‘Chitol Macher Muithya’, ‘ Chaanar Paturi’, ‘Kolkata Chicken Biryani’ ‘and Kolkata Mutton Biryani’.

At the special live counter for fish and sea food, you are likely to find  ‘Hilsa’, ‘Chingri’ ‘Rui’, ‘Parshe’, ‘Pabda’, ‘Tela Pia’, ‘Bhola’, ‘Galda’ and ‘Katla’ and more.

No Bengali meal is complete without desserts. So there is ‘Sandesh’, ‘Patishapta’, ‘Rosogolla’, ‘Komla Bhog’, ‘Pantua’, ‘Bhapa Doi’ among others for those with a sweet tooth.
